Historic Landscape Survey

Historic Landscape survey, page browser

This is the long-awaited Council-backed survey of Highbury Park landscape features, along with aspects of Uffculme.

The survey, commissioned through the Landscape Practice Group, and written by Phillada Ballard, is a comprehensive account of the landscape we know as Highbury, Uffculme, and Henburys. Written in three major sections, the first two cover the development of each estate, plus the development of Highbury Park itself, then provides a detailed landscape survey covering structures, boundaries, and plantings. These sections are very informatively packed with detailed descriptions, maps, and photos from the 19th, 20th, 21st Centuries.

The last section focuses on recommendations for repair and preservation projects, which can be worked into funding bids.

This version of he survey is presented one page at a time, in a simple browsing window. You can click through pages one at a time, or view the entire set in thumbnail format, and skip between them.

The entire report is also available as a 35Mb PDF file.
